Our summer show, On the Verge or the Geography of Yearning, opens July 10 and plays through August 1. When three intrepid Victorian lady adventurers take us with them into terra incognita—the unknown land—we discover much more than unexplored territory. Inspired by the adventures of real women who trekked the planet at the turn of the twentieth century, playwright Eric Overmyer created a funny and intriguing journey across space and time. Mary Baltimore (Kimberly Mumford), Fanny Cranberry (Brandy Nisbet-Wilcox), and Alexandra Cafuffle (Sydney Smith), begin their explorations somewhere in the South Pacific in 1888. During their far-ranging travels through jungles, deserts, and icy mountains, the trio encounter eight unusual individuals, all played by Brandon Stanger, who add to the excitement and the comedy.
